Important Email from J&J Benefits regarding Alight
Sophie Konya, President of Johnson & Johnson Retiree Club
November 22, 2024
The JNJ Leadership team was made aware of a recent issue with our benefits administrator (Alight) which impacted a subset of our retirees.
Retirees who enrolled in J&J’s new medical options for 2025 were incorrectly dropped from their 2025 Prescription/Rx coverage within Alight’s system and an incorrect confirmation statement was mailed. Further, if the retiree accessed the For Your Benefits (FYB) platform, the 2025 prescription/RX coverage reflected ‘No Coverage’.
Important: the drop in coverage was not reported to Express Scripts, J&J’s prescription/RX vendor. Impacted retirees’ prescription/RX coverage remains in place and available to use.
Alight has corrected their system and is working to update the records for 1,594 impacted retirees, which is expected to be completed by end of today, Friday 11/22. A notification email was sent to the impacted retirees as of 8:30 AM EDT today, notifying them of the issue and setting the expectation that they will be able to see corrected coverage on the FYB platform by Monday 11/25. Alight will be sending new confirmation statements to the impacted retirees showing accurate 2025 elections inclusive of the prescription/RX coverage.
We apologize for the confusion this has caused J&J retirees. Alight has committed to reviewing its internal controls to ensure this issue does not reoccur in the future.
